Western Front  ▶  Belgium: Battles near Tirlemont, St. Trond, and Diest.  ▶  Lorraine: German counter-offensive from Metz; vain attacks at Spincourt and Blamont.
Naval and Overseas Operations German cruisers Goeben and Breslau enter Dardanelles.
Political Great Britain: The Press Bureau constituted.

1915 (Wednesday)

Western Front German attacks in Argonne and Vosges repulsed.
Eastern Front Dvinsk evacuated.
Southern Front  ▶  British attack in Gallipoli dies away.  ▶  Powerful Austro-German concentration announced in southern Hungary.
Political Paris "Temps" publishes text of secret memorandum to German Chancellor from six leading economic organisations in Germany.[a]
