Hello, I am Borderman, just a regular user of the Wikitide community, using their services to create this site, of which I am the administrator. I have two other site, The Lonsdale Battalion about the Pals Battalion of Cumberland Westmorland men from the Great War, and The English Lakes about the Lake District in Cumbria, England.

So, you have reached my user page. Whether you stumbled across it or happened upon here with purpose, I am the creator and administrator of this site and I am here to help out if anyone runs into issues. This area is where I tend to add stuff to help me work on different aspects of the site, mainly because I forget things that might be useful. So it is here where I come back to, making notes and adding links to other pages and templates.

If you have any comments, questions or concerns I can be contacted in the following ways:

Using responsive images

To resize images so they are responsive to the screen size use the following four options:

 1. Up to a maximum size of 800px → <div class="res-img-800"></div>
 2. Up to a maximum size of 1000px → <div class="res-img-1000"></div>
 3. Up to a maximum size of 1200px → <div class="res-img-1200"></div>
 4. No maximum – will continue to increase in size with the screen → <div class="res-img"></div>

Using references

These are used primarily on the main projects as a way to quickly show any combination of notes, references and sources. Not all pages will require all three templates. Most may only use sources (which is basically an acknowledgements template), others may require a combination of two or all three, particularly if there are additional notes or references to be included.

Reference syntax for notes

Currently, there three main syntaxes for notes. These are used with the reflist template. The above template (Template:Notes) includes all three variations so if any of these are used, they will be displayed.

 •
 •
 •

With the above in mind adding the following syntax within the text will provide the subsequent renderings for each version. It doesn't matter which version is used providing they remain consistent on each page.

 • Syntax used is which renders as [note 1]
 • Syntax used is which renders as [n 1]
 • Syntax used is which renders as [a] and this [b]

Note renderings

 1. This is the note that renders the whole word note 1, note 2, note 3.
 1. This is the note that renders the abbreviated version of "note" as n 1, n 2, n 3.
 1. This is the note that renders letters of the alphabet
 2. The more notes there are the more letters are rendered: a, b, c, d, e, f, etc.
