- ↑ Battle of Heligoland: 1st Battle-cruiser Squadron, under Rear-Admiral Beatty, 1st Light Cruiser Squadron, under Commodore Goodenough, and a strong force of destroyers sink 3 German cruisers and 2 destroyers, and damage many others.
