Great War events that took place on 24 February.

1915 (Wednesday)

Home Front The first British Territorial division (the North Midland)[a] leaves England for France.
Western Front French progress north of Mesnil (Champagne).
Eastern Front  ▶  Germans cross the River Niemen near Sventsiansk, and take Przasnysz, with 10,000 prisoners and 20 guns.  ▶  Russians take Mozely, near Bolimov.
Naval and Overseas Operations Loss of HMS Clan McNaughton, auxiliary cruiser, is announced.
