A Division is a large military unit formed primarily of Brigades and Battalions. During the First World war divisions consisted of up 30,000 soldiers.[1] They were made up of infantry or cavalry and categorised into four main groups, these being: the professional Regular Army; the part-time Territorial Force; the wartime New Army and the Yeomanry Divisions of Territorial Cavalry.
