Division

A Division is a large military unit formed primarily of Brigades and Battalions. During the First World war divisions consisted of up 30,000 soldiers. They were made up of infantry or cavalry and categorised into four main groups, these being: the professional Regular Army; the part-time Territorial Force; the wartime New Army and the Yeomanry Divisions of Territorial Cavalry.
