The following timeline provides a simple chronological listing of events relating to Forest of Argonne.
1914
15 September | German advance begins; continues until 21 October. |
21-29 October | French recovery begins. |
1915
3, 5, 22, 23, 27 & 30 January and various dates throughout February to June | Fighting takes place in the forest. |
30 June | Unsuccessful enemy attack. |
2-4 July, 12-15 July & 26 July | Repeated heavy German attacks checked by the French. |
1-3 August, 7, 11 & 13 August | German attacks and continued heavy fighting. |
2 August | Liquid fire attack near Marie Thérèse. |
8, 9, 27 & 28 September | Heavy artillery and violent fighting. |
1-10 October, 7-16 October | Continued fighting. |
