1915 (Wednesday)

Western Front French occupy woods north of Altkirch (Alsace).
Eastern Front Russians occupy Kimpolung (Bukovina) and reach Hungarian frontier.
Political Lord Kitchener reviews the military situation in the House of Lords. German SS Dacia, interned in the USA, is sold to Mr. Breitung, an American citizen (see 11 February, 1915).

1916 (Thursday)

Naval and Overseas Operations British submarine sunk off Dutch coast.
Political Labour Congress opposes Military Service Bill.

1917 (Saturday)

Western Front Big daylight raid by the British south-east of Arras.
Eastern Front  ▶  Stubborn fighting between the Carpathians and Focsani; some enemy progress, especially in the Susitsa valley and near Odobesti.  ▶  Russian counter-offensive between Focsani and Fundeni; ground recovered near Obilesti.

1918 (Sunday)

Southern Front  ▶  Patrol actions between the Brenta and Piave rivers.  ▶  Austrian patrols active north of Mount Costalunga.  ▶  Albania: Italians repulse a large enemy detachment on Osum river.
Asiatic and Egyptian Theatres Arabia: Arabs raid Hejaz railway south of Maan.
Political Independence of Finland is recognised by France and Germany.
