- 1914
- 15 September – German advance begins; continues until 21 October.
- 21-29 October – French recovery begins.
- 1915
- 3, 5, 22, 23, 27 & 30 January and various dates throughout February to June — Fighting takes place in the forest.
- 30 June – Unsuccessful enemy attack.
- 2-4 July, 12-15 July & 26 July – Repeated heavy German attacks checked by the French.
- 1-3 August, 7, 11 & 13 August – German attacks and continued heavy fighting.
- 2 August – Liquid fire attack near Marie Thérèse.
- 8, 9, 27 & 28 September – Heavy artillery and violent fighting.
- 1-10 October, 7-16 October – Continued fighting.
