Western Front  ▶  Germans try to cross Yser on rafts, south of Dixmude; decisively repulsed.  ▶  French occupy Lesménils (Moselle) and Burnhaupt (Alsace).
Eastern Front Hungary: Russians occupy Bartfeld.
Southern Front Serbia: Austrians occupy Belgrade; Serbians begin counter-offensive in Suvobor region.
Political  ▶  Speech by Theobald von Bethmann-Hollweg in Reichstag blaming Britain for the war.  ▶  Ireland: Seditious paper seized in Dublin.
