- ↑ Turkey enters the war on the side of the Central Powers. Telegram from Petrograd states that German-Turkish warships SMS Breslau and SMS Hamidia bombarded simultaneously and unexpectedly the unfortified seaside towns of Theodosia and Novorossisk respectively.
