- ↑ The German offensive at St. Eloi resulted in the capture of the village and part of the British front line system. Counter attacks resulted in the recovery of the village and most of the lost ground.
- ↑ The German cruiser SMS Dresden, which escaped from the battle of the Falklands Isles, was sunk by British warships off the island of Juan Fernandez in Chilean territorial waters.
