This basic template makes it easier to link to categories without having to type out the category name twice. Normally, linking to a category without showing the prefix 'category' you will have to type the following:

[[Category:Glossary of words and phrases|glossary of words and phrases]]

Using this template shortens the process. So, typing the following:

{{cat|glossary of words and phrases}} will add the category in the usual place at the bottom of the page.
