Usage

{{Note}} is a basic notice template specifically for the purpose of posting editorial notes in articles. This template shows the "reason" by default, and the "details" are hidden unless the reader hovers over the note to display them. If neither parameter is populated, preset comments are show by default. There are only two parameters:

• Reason: The main reason for the note – ;
• Details: The specific details relating to he main reason. This provides a space to elaborate further. It is good practice to be succint.

Example 1

Including the reason but not the details:

{{Note|reason=This is the main reason for the note.}}

Results in:

Note: This is the main reason for the note.

No other details have been specified.

Example 2

Including the reason and details:

{{Note|reason=This is the main reason for the note.|details=This is where you would expand upon the reason with additional details.}}

Results in:

Predefined note templates

Using this template as a blank canvass provides the opportunity to create a wide variety of predefine "Note" templates. This prevents the user from having to write out the same reasons and details for different situations where the same note is required. If new predefined note templates have been created, include a link to them here. Please ensure each predefined note is a subpage of the original note template, for example: Template:Note/Subpage name.
