This is a documentation subpage for Template:SMU.

In most cases it contains usage information, example, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template is for linking to German submarine pages with the specific prefix SMU (Seiner Majestät Unterseeboot) – His Majesty's Submarine.
The only parameter is the vessel's name {{SMU|vessel name}}. The name will be italicised, the prefix will not.
Vessel number examples would be U-65 or UB-73 etc.
For linking any vessel with a hull number, pennant number, or launch year, see {{Ship}}.
