The Crystal Palace: The name in the war for the huge iron mine superstructure at Loos, taken on 25 September, 1915. Its two tall pithead erections joined by horizontal corridors at some distance had a resemblance to Sydenham Crystal Palace with its two tall water-towers. (See Tower Bridge).[1]
