HMS Grive was an Armoured Boarding Steamer.

Timeline

The following timeline provides a simple chronological listing of events relating to HMS Grive.

1917

8 December Torpedoed by SM UC-40 in the North Sea off Lerwick.
24 December Sunk four nautical miles (7.4 km) east north east of the North Ronaldsay Lighthouse, Orkney Islands whilst being towed.

Notes

  1. Modern sources confirm the ship was torpedoed on 8 December, 1917. It was officially recorded as sunk on 24 December, making the details contemporary with the war incorrect.
