From The Great War 1914-1918

Fokker: The name of a type of German monoplane armed with a machine gun firing through the propellor, from its inventor, a Dutch engineer. He invented his machine in 1910, and offered it the British Government, who rejected it because of certain defects. He made good the defects and the Germans took over the machine.[1]
