Body snatcher

From The Great War On This Day

A body snatcher was a term referring to stretcher bearers, either regimental or belonging to the Royal Army Medial Corps. It was also used occasionally for a sniper and in the Navy, sometimes used for a Ship's Corporal (Naval Police).[1]
