Beaucoup

From The Great War On This Day

Beaucoup: Plenty of. The French word was adopted as an every-day expression in the War; e.g., "There were beaucoup cigarettes. The was beaucoup beer," etc. A man who was very drunk would be said to be "beaucoup drunk."[1]
