1914

13 September Passage forced by Allies.
14 September Battle of the Aisne begins; Germans stop advance.
15 September German counter-attacks.
28 September Battle dies down; the Allies abandon frontal attack for turning movements.

1915

7 June Repeated German counter-attacks repulsed: 2000 German dead and 250 prisoners.
29 September Heavy artillery fighting throughout September; Violent bombardment north and south of the river.
17, 12, 17, 18 & 28 October Operations active on the river.
