1915 (Sunday)
- Heavy German attack at Bagatelle (Argonne).
- Germans take offensive on southern wing of East Prussian front, and advance 40 kilometres towards Johannisburg.
- Very heavy fighting at Kosziowa, north-east of Tucholka Pass: enemy finally checked.
- Austrians reach Upper Suczava valley, Bukovina.
- British Foreign Office issues statement justifying use of neutral flag "for the purpose of evading capture at sea" (see 30 January, 6 and 11 February).
- Allied financial resources to be united.
