Western Front Trench warfare established along the whole front; artillery duels and, later, local raids.
Eastern Front  ▶  Poland: Germans approach Lodz; heavy fighting begins.  ▶  Galicia: Russians defeat Austrians (6,000 prisoners) on front Cracow-Chenstokhov.
Southern Front Serbia: Austrians pressing from Valyevo; Serbians in retreat towards south-east.
Asiatic and Egyptian Theatres Armenia: Russians occupy Koprukeui.
