  1. The Report reviewed operations from 15 May 1917, when the Russians, retreating from the Carpathians, turned on their pursuers near Stryj and Bloechow. The Russian front was broken at Stryj, and it was decided to fall back on the Dniester, heavy losses having been inflicted on the Austrians, who suffered severely at Mikolajow (2 June 1915), Zurawno (8-9 June 1915), and between Zayechow and Zurawno (15 June 1915). From 29 May to 15 June 1915, the Russians claimed 40,000 prisoners in this sector, and placed the total enemy loss at from 120,000 to 150,000 men.
